2012: új struktúra, új kurzusok, új tankönyvek
2012 az újdonságok éve lesz a Debreceni Nyári Egyetem életében. Az elmúlt időszak tapasztalatai alapján egyre fontosabbnak tűnik a mindenkori viszonyokhoz való gyors és rugalmas alkalmazkodás. A magyar nyelv és kultúra továbbra is sokakat vonz, sokan szeretnének megtanulni magyarul és még többen kíváncsiak a magyar hagyományok, a magyar történelem, a magyar kultúra és a mai magyar valóság sajátosságaira. Ugyanakkor az is jól látható, hogy bizonyos szokások megváltoztak: az anyagi háttér, az állami ösztöndíjak csökkenése és a folyamatos áremelkedések – különösen a fiatalok számára – nehezítik a Debreceni Nyári Egyetem által kínált lehetőségek igénybe vételét. Ez egyértelműen arra késztette a magyar nyelv és kultúra ügyét 1927 óta töretlenül szolgáló intézmény vezetőségét, hogy változtasson a korábbi évek gyakorlatához képest.
Az új struktúra lényege: 2012-től koncentráltabban, nagyobb rendszerességgel és homogénebb csoportokkal igyekszünk megfelelni a jelenlegi elvárásoknak. Részben a budapesti nyelviskolánk gyakorlatát követve Debrecenben is csaknem minden hónapban kínálunk hagyományos, intenzív vagy szuperintenzív nyelvtanfolyamokat, amelyek mellett lesznek tavaszi és őszi szemeszterkurzusok, folytatjuk és folyamatosan bővítjük a külföldi helyszíneken – Nagyváradon, New York-ban és Antwerpenben – elindított programjainkat, valamint a magyar kultúra számos elemét (történelem, zene, színház, néprajz, stb.) feldolgozó ún. tematikus kurzusokat.

2012 promises to be a year of new developments in the life of Debrecen Summer School. If past experience is anything to go by, swift and flexible adaptation to a changing environment seems to be ever more important. The Hungarian language and culture remain to be attractive to a lot of people. Many would like to study Hungarian and even more are eager to find out about Hungarian traditions, history, and culture as well as today’s Hungarian reality. At the same time, it is also clear that certain patterns have changed. Dwindling finances, recent drops in the number of government scholarships, and sharp hikes in prices have all made it harder for young people to take the opportunities offered by Debrecen Summer School. This has inevitably prompted the management of the institution, which has faithfully served the cause of the Hungarian language and culture since 1927, to slightly change the course of its operations.
The gist of the new structure is as follows: As of 2012, we will try to meet our customers’ expectations by offering more compact and homogeneous study groups at courses launched more frequently through the academic year. Partly treading in the footsteps of our Budapest language school, the Debrecen institution will also offer regular, intensive, and super-intensive courses practically each month. In addition to this, the spring and fall semester courses will remain on schedule. The programs launched in venues abroad (Oradea, New York, and Antwerp) will be expanded, as will the list of the so-called thematic courses, which cover various aspects of Hungarian culture (history, music, theater, ethnography, etc.).

2012 wird das Jahr der Neuerungen an der Sommeruniversität Debrecen. Den Erfahrungen der letzten Jahre nach wird die schnelle und flexible Anpassung an die aktuellen Bedingungen immer wichtiger. Die ungarische Sprache und Kultur zieht auch weiterhin viele Menschen an, viele möchten gern ungarisch lernen und noch mehr sind neugierig auf die ungarische Geschichte, auf die ungarischen Traditionen und auf die ungarische Kultur und auf die Eigenheiten der ungarischen Wirklichkeit heute. Gleichzeitig ist gut zu sehen, dass sich bestimmte Bräuche ändern: die wirtschaftliche Stellung, die Streichung von staatlichen Stipendien und die stets steigenden Preise erschweren vor allem den Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit, an den Programmen der Sommeruniversität Debrecen teilzunehmen. Dies hat die Leitung des seit 1927 im Dienste der ungarischen Sprache und Kultur stehenden Instituts dazu bewegt, etwas an den Gewohnheiten der letzten Jahre zu verändern.
Das Wesentliche der neuen Struktur: ab 2012 werden wir versuchen, den Erwartungen mit konzentrierteren, besser organisierten und homogeneren Gruppen gerecht zu werden. Dem Bespiel unserer Budapester Sprachschule folgend werden wir traditionelle, intensive und superintensive Kurse in fast jedem Monat des Jahres anbieten. Daneben wird es im Frühjahr und im Herbst Semesterkurse geben und wir erweitern ständig unser Angebot im Ausland – die in Nagyvarad, New York und Antwerpen begonnenen Programme – sowie die thematischen Kurse, die zahlreiche Merkmale der ungarischen Kultur behandeln.
